“Dr. Christa was tremendously encouraging. I didn’t feel like I was visiting a ‘doctor’, I felt like I was visiting a friend who knows an incredible amount about human biology, and who is concerned for my health. She gave me some paperwork to fill out, including a very detailed questionnaire that asked, “How often do you experience this or that”, symptoms that seem minor and individual, but looked at together can point to larger issues. As the questionnaire indicated, Dr. Christa was really interested in all the causes and effects; she understands each person as their own ecosystem, and illness as imbalances in those interdependent systems. After speaking with me at length, taking in my history and asking important questions, she explained, in fantastic scientific detail, what she sensed that root of the problem might be, and recommended that I try eliminating wheat and dairy for one month. She thought that there may be a food allergy causing inflammation in the intestines, thereby causing poor iron absorption. I was thrilled to be given a recommendation that didn’t involve medications or procedures, only dietary changes. I have felt so good without dairy and grains that, two and a half months later, I intend to maintain this way of eating. My digestion works better, my skin is clearer, and best of all, the brain fog, that I thought was caused by poor blood, has lifted. She gave me many other wonderful dietary and lifestyle recommendations, all with a good scientific understanding of how they can improve all the body’s systems. Physically, I feel improved since first seeing Dr. Christa. We continue to work on my iron levels, and though it will likely take a good amount of time to repair a possible lifetime of dietary damage, I have great faith that we have come to the roots of it.”
